About Us

About

Nigerian Insight is a monthly newspaper intended to sharpen popular consciousness for the realisation of human freedom and development in all ramifications

Mission

While our respect for all views and opinions would be unflinching and total, we would never the less remain intellectually dogmatic against concepts foisted on the people as popular viewpoints.

Aim

The Nigerian personality is not necessarily about that big star as such, but more about that idea which seeks to broaden the horizon of society in the determined search for the golden fleece. Thus, we are not in the track field of the media to participate in a competition against others in so far as it does not include a contest for ideas, which have the capacity to orient the popular mass for a progressive setting.
Our Focus

At this critical time in our history when, painfully, views were being polarized, along unhelpful sectarian tracks, thereby pitching people against selves, sometimes for accrual benefits, our focus is to sharpen popular consciousness for the realization of the totality of the environment, in all its ramifications, in order to equip the individual to be keenly aware of his self worth as a contributory member of society which is a necessary tool for the attainment of human objective, including democratic values.

In this regard, therefore, it is our resolve and determination to strive to be the voice of the unheard, the platform for the socio- economically marginalized and a channel of communication for all.

The complex nature of our society, with its multiplicity of value systems, its politico- religious diversity, the need for the unity of the human person, which we hold dear, and that there is no such division but a common objective, and this we tenaciously believe so, would be our guiding principle.

We reject the vicious stratification of the people for the decisive goal of self aggrandizement conceptionalised by narrow world view all of which are quite unhelpful.

The Nigerian personality is not necessarily about that big star, as such, but more about that idea which seeks to broaden the horizon of society, in the determined search for the Golden Fleece. Thus, we are not in the track field of the media to participate in a competition against others, in so far as it does not include a contest for ideas which have the capacity to orient the popular mass for a progressive setting.

While our respect for all views and opinions would be unflinching and total, we would, nevertheless, remain intellectually dogmatic against concepts foisted on the people as popular viewpoints. This is all the more so, in our strong belief that Nigeria, as our common heritage, deserves a bodyguard of truth, for its protection. We must be counted not among those who would compromise its integrity.

As we enter the ring to contest for ideas, we rely on you, the reader, as a dependable supporter, in this cooperative endeavor to move our nation along the pathway of buoyant growth, righteousness and democracy.
